[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]M[/dropcap2]ood is a mysterious thing. Our feeling-oriented culture has elevated it to a level of prominence far beyond its original design. Mood rules the day. We live to feel good. If we don’t feel good, something is wrong.

How can I make myself feel good – about myself, about life? This becomes the ruler we measure life by.

This is a snare. A trap. An effective one, too. It works almost every time.

Self becomes the center of the universe. We sacrifice our highest good on the altar of feeling good. We become addicted. People-pleasing. Self-medicating. Codependent.

Serenity. Now there’s something. A steady, baseline peace that refuses to get sucked into the game everyone else is playing. It coaches us to sit back and observe the circus – secure in our identity and our value.

Serenity says we have nothing to prove to anyone. We can live from our hearts.

Beware the mood snare. Take a deep breath. Serenity is possible.
